On February 28, 2025, Buenos Aires’ Mayor, Jorge Macri, announced the tender for the construction of the new Metro Line F.
The total investment for the project is estimated at $1.85 billion USD. Within the next 60 days, the Ministry of Infrastructure will release the details and requirements for companies interested in participating in the national and international tender, which is set to launch in June this year. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with operations commencing in 2031.
The construction is planned in two phases. The first phase includes six stations: Brandsen, Constitución, Cochabamba, Chile, Congreso, and Tucumán. This project aims to connect the neighborhoods of Barracas and Palermo, spanning approximately 9 kilometers and featuring 11 stations. The line will interlink with existing Lines A, B, C, D, and H, as well as the Roca railway, enhancing the city’s public transportation network. The project is expected to benefit around 300,000 passengers daily.
