Professional Experience

José Luis Zapata is the Partner in charge of the Labor Law Area at O’Farrell.

His activity focuses on advising companies, settling labor disputes, whether individual or collective, managing labor proceedings, and negotiating collective bargaining agreements with labor unions.

Mr. Zapata is a legal adviser to companies engaged in different economic activities in Argentina, such as the automotive, oil, gas, electricity, textile, chemical and petrochemical, retail, construction, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, gastronomy, insurance, railway, and services industries, always in relation to labor and litigation issues, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and management of collective labor disputes.

He is currently part of the negotiation group of the collective bargaining agreement between YPF Energía Eléctrica S.A. and the union Federación Argentina de Trabajadores de Luz y Fuerza.

José Luis was appointed by ADEFA (Association of Automotive Manufacturers) as its representative in the Social Policy Department of Unión Industrial Argentina.

Education

He is a lawyer graduated from the Law and Political Sciences School of Universidad Católica Argentina.

He took post-graduate and specialization courses at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad Austral, Universidad Católica Argentina, and Instituto para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Argentina (IDEA).

He attended the professional update program offered by the Academy of American and International Law, Institute for International and Comparative Law, sponsored by the Center for American and International Law, Dallas, Texas.

ACADEMIC WORK

Mr. Zapata works as a teacher at Instituto para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Argentina and at the Master’s Degree Course in Corporate Law of ESEADE University Institute.
